17.08.2021 | GO-LIVE-EVENT OF THE FOOD-FILL

On 13 August, consumers were able to test the filling machine in a health food shop.

The goal of the "Food-Fill" project is to enable packaging-free shopping for food that needs to be refrigerated in stores. With the 3D-printed filling machine, this goal is within reach. After its first successful test last year, the second test now took place at PurNatur, the health food shop of the Bahnhof Apotheke Kempten.

With the help of the vending machine, refrigerated products such as fresh cheese and yoghurt can be filled in self-service. At its go-live in PurNatur, the test eaters were able to fill a yoghurt independently and without complications. Hygiene is particularly important here, as Prof. Dr.-Ing. Schreiber explains: "Consumers want hygienic filling and a clean machine. That was a big challenge. But we implemented the hygiene concept well in terms of construction and we are very proud of it."

The machine and the concept were convincing, and the response at PurNatur was positive throughout. This naturally delighted the students and staff who had dedicated themselves to this project over the past few years and for whom it is now a special moment to be able to present their own work to consumers in the shop.
